I jumped from the boat and into the grey choppy water. Under the water it was murky with kicked-up sediment. Breathing shallowly I began to swim. It was at this point I began to hate my job. In theory, picking up the pieces from super villain battle was the perfect job - easy, paid well and not usually too dangerous. Today however, I had a hard job. Apparently Team Mongoose had blown up some giant ocean satellite something over the bay. I got the job. So, now I'm in 50 feet of water trying to locate some downed piece of wreckage. suddenly, I saw a flash of movement. I moved over to investigate. Then, from the wreckage came them! Five metal things were moving towards me. Instinctively, I pulled out the spear gun I had for situations like this. The things coming at me were, as it turned out, robotic fish. To make matters much worse, they shot lasers, oh and they knocked my spear gun out of my hands. The fish were a product of an insane scientist -- in other words -- something I deal with all day. Now, just as it seems like I would be dead (killed by robotic fish even), one of them exploded. Then, I saw from behind the wreckage a ninja suit-clad member of Team Mongoose. With 4 shots, he disabled the robot fish and with a small nod to me swam off. I finished the job and by the next week had forgotten all about the incident.
Several weeks later I got a package. Inside were the fish.

I first heard of the EOTA project by a small unassuming email in my inbox. From the speakers of my computer came a simple message "We at Apex labs have noticed you have expressed interest in seeing again. We invite you to participate in an experimental procedure that may restore your sight." I sat back in my chair and scratched my chin. I then typed back a simple message "How do I sign up?".

Two weeks later my friend drove me to the address specified in the second email. The taste of the fumes from the city outside remained bitter on my tongue as I entered the building. The lobby smelled like stereotypical hospital smell - sanitizing, yet still a bit sick . All around me were the sounds of doctors and patients and lawyers all rushing around. At this point I was led through many twisting hallways into the heart of the complex. As the doctor explained the procedure I was far too excited to listen to his long-winded lecture on the exact process of the operation. I signed all kinds of forms that promised over and over not to sue, then we got started. At first, I was told to open my eyes. Then I felt a wash of a liquid of sort coating on to my eyes. Then a thin plastic sheet was placed on my eyes. It was blurry at first but then suddenly I COULD SEE!!! It was almost too much to take in as I started to look and for the first time to see things. I turned to face the doctor and was immediately taken aback by the strange creature before me. The animal, with two legs, two arms, and more hair than I ever imagined then spoke with the doctors voice "I trust the procedure was a success." At that point I ran to the bathroom looked in the mirror and discovered I, in fact, was one of the strange two-legged creatures as well.
